Higher Education Mentorship Programme

Selecting and applying to universities abroad can be overwhelming and stressful for students, especially when they need to become more familiar with their desired destination's education system and admission requirements.

To ease the pressure and reduce the stress level of the applicants, the London School of Leadership, Investment, and Technology (LSLIT) from the UK offers a fully funded (hence, it's free for the students) Mentorship Program that provides guidance, support, and advice throughout the process. LSLIT Higher Education is a division of LSLIT that organises this programme on behalf of its parent organisation.

Our Mentorship Programme offers a comprehensive six-stage process to assist students in selecting and applying to universities in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia. Let's dive into each stage in more detail:

1. Primary Consultations

The first stage of our program is to have an introductory consultation with the student. This consultation is an opportunity for our onboarding manager to understand the student's academic background, career aspirations, and any preferences or concerns they may have regarding their study abroad plan. This consultation is conducted over WhatsApp or Phone and is entirely obligation-free.

Our onboarding manager calls the student over WhatsApp or phone during the primary consultation and initiates a no-obligation conversation. This call enables students to ask questions and express their concerns about studying abroad. Besides, our onboarding manager also asks several questions about the student's academic background, desired destination, and career goals.

This initial call aims to understand the student's unique requirements and create a tailored approach to achieve their academic and career objectives. Our onboarding manager will listen carefully to the student and provide an overview of the mentoring program's benefits, including the services and resources we offer.

Once the onboarding manager understands the student's goals and preferences, they will explain the mentoring process and guide the student on how to create an account on our state-of-the-art application portal. Finally, the student will receive a detailed step-by-step guide on signing up and accessing our mentoring services.

At the end of the primary consultation, the onboarding manager will explain the next steps in the process and answer any questions the student may have. This stage is a crucial foundation for the student-mentor relationship and lays the groundwork for the rest of the mentoring process.

2. Onboarding

If the student is interested in proceeding with us, we will help them create an account on our state-of-the-art application portal. This portal provides students with a seamless experience accessing our services, from completing application forms to communicating with our team.

The second stage of our mentorship programme is onboarding, which involves helping the student create an account on our state-of-the-art application portal. This portal provides students with a seamless and user-friendly experience to access our mentoring services, including applying to universities and communicating with their admission team.

To begin onboarding, the student will receive an email with instructions on creating an account on our application portal. The email contains a link to the portal, and the student will be prompted to enter their details and contact information. Once the student has completed the account setup, they will receive a profile activation email to create their passwords. They will then have access to their personalised dashboard, which contains the following features:

  1. Profile: The profile section allows students to update their personal and academic information.
  2. Document Upload: Our application portal provides students with an option-like checklist of required documents. This feature ensures that students upload all critical documents and are well-prepared before submitting their applications.
  3. Application Preferences: Our application portal lets students create applications by consulting with their mentors. We have a comprehensive partnership with universities in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia. Before making these applications, students will consult their mentors to search for universities based on location, ranking, and course offerings.
  4. Application Review: Our team of experienced mentors offers one-on-one conversations to review the student's application and provide feedback on any areas that need improvement.

The onboarding process is crucial in ensuring that the student has access to all the necessary resources and support to navigate the study abroad process. Our application portal provides a central hub for students to manage their applications, receive updates on their status, and communicate with our team.

3. Classes

Our mentoring program includes four classes that help students understand the education system, course and university selection, document preparation, and application procedure. These classes are designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of the process and ensure they are well-prepared before submitting their applications.

The third stage of our mentorship programme is classes designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the UK education system, course and university selection, document preparation, and application QA sessions. These classes are conducted by our team of experienced mentors, who have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in guiding students through the study abroad process.

The classes are conducted online and are held over four sessions, each lasting approximately two hours. The following is an overview of the topics covered in each lecture:

  1. Introduction to the UK Education System: This lecture provides students with an understanding of the UK education system, including the different levels of education, types of degrees, and entry requirements. The mentor will discuss the benefits of studying in the UK and provide tips on how to choose the right course and university.
  2. Course and University Selection: This lecture focuses on helping students choose the right course and university based on their academic background and career aspirations. The mentor will provide guidance on how to research universities, compare course offerings, and understand the admission requirements.
  3. Document Preparation: This lecture covers the essential documents required for the application process, including transcripts, English proficiency tests, reference letters, CVs, and personal statements (statements of purpose). The mentor will guide how to prepare these documents and ensure they meet the university's requirements.
  4. Application QA Session: This lecture allows students to review their applications with our mentors. The mentor will answer any questions they have and share feedback on their applications and guidance on any areas needing improvement.

The classes are interactive, and students are encouraged to ask questions and participate actively in the sessions. Our team of mentors provides personalised guidance to each student, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of the study abroad process and are well prepared to navigate it successfully.

4. Applications

Our state-of-the-art application portal allows students to complete the application form once and submit it to multiple universities, saving them time and effort. In addition, our team of experienced mentors reviews the application to ensure all requirements are met before submitting them to the universities. Our team also monitors the application status and communicates with the admission team to keep the students informed.

The fourth stage of our mentoring program is applications, where we use our state-of-the-art application portal to submit applications to multiple universities. This stage is critical in ensuring the student's application is submitted on time and meets all the university's requirements.

Our application portal is user-friendly and easy to navigate, providing students with a seamless experience managing their applications. Here's how the applications stage works:

  1. Application Form: Once the student has completed the onboarding process and attended the classes, they can begin the application process by creating application preferences on our application portal. The profile already captures all the essential information required for the application process, including personal details, academic background, experiences, and referee details.
  2. Document Upload: After creating the application preferences (or even before), students can upload their required documents, such as certificates & transcripts, English proficiency tests, reference letters, and personal statements (statement of purpose). Our application portal provides students with a requirement-like checklist of required documents for each university, ensuring they get all critical documents.
  3. Application Submission: Once the application preferences are created, and documents are uploaded, our team of mentors reviews the application and ensures that it meets all the university's requirements. Once the application is reviewed and approved, it is submitted to the university on behalf of the student. Our application portal allows students to monitor the progress of their application and receive updates on its status.
  4. Multiple Applications: Our application portal allows students to submit applications to multiple universities without the need to fill out multiple application forms. This feature saves time and ensures that the student's application is consistent across all the universities they apply to.
  5. Application Fees: Our application portal provides students with information on the application fees for each university, and we help students make the payment through our secure payment gateway.

This applications stage is a critical step in our mentorship programme, where we strongly encourage students to use our state-of-the-art application portal to submit applications to multiple universities. The portal is user-friendly and easy to navigate, and our team of mentors ensures that the student's application meets all the university's requirements before submitting it. This portal also helps them manage stress by observing all notifications and communications between our team and the universities.

5. Follow-ups

After submitting the applications, our application team closely monitor the progress and regularly follow up with the universities to ensure the students receive updates on their application status. Our application portal also allows students to observe live notifications and our communications with the admission team, ensuring complete transparency.

The fifth stage of our mentoring process is follow-ups, where we regularly check for updates from the universities and keep the students informed about their application status. This stage is crucial in ensuring that the student's application is processed efficiently and timely and that any issues or concerns are addressed promptly.

Here's how the follow-up stage works:

  1. Monitoring Application Status: Our team of mentors regularly monitors the application status once the application is submitted. Our application portal allows students to observe live notifications and our communications with the admission team, establishing full transparency. We keep the students informed about their application status, any updates, or requests for additional information from the universities.
  2. Communication with Universities: Our team of mentors communicates with the universities on behalf of the student to ensure that the application is processed smoothly. We address any issues or concerns that may arise during the application process, such as missing documents or errors in the application.
  3. Admissions Decision: Once the university makes an admissions decision, we inform the student about the decision, whether it's an acceptance, rejection, or deferral. If the student is accepted, we assist them in accepting the offer and guide them through the next steps, such as paying deposits or tuition fees and obtaining a student visa.
  4. Deferral or Rejection: If the university defers or rejects the student's application, we work with the student to understand the reasons and explore options. We provide guidance on how to improve the application or select alternative universities that align with their goals and preferences.

6. Visa Support

Once the students receive an offer from the university, we provide them with visa support, preparing them for credibility interviews and offering free complete visa processing services for the main applicants and their dependents. We also take mock interviews to help students feel more confident and comfortable during the actual interview.

The sixth and final stage of our mentorship programme is visa support, where we prepare students for credibility interviews, take mock interviews (if necessary), and offer a free full visa processing service for the main applicants and their dependents. This stage is crucial in ensuring that the student can obtain a student visa efficiently and without any hassle, allowing them to study at their preferred university abroad.

Here's how the visa support stage works:

  1. Preparing for Credibility Interviews: Many countries require credibility interviews as part of the student visa application process. These interviews are conducted to ensure that the student's application is genuine and that they intend to study at the university they have applied to. Our compliance and visa support team prepares students for these interviews by providing guidance on the questions that may be asked and how to answer them.
  2. Taking Mock Interviews: If a student is particularly nervous or concerned about the credibility interview, we offer mock interviews to help them prepare. These mock interviews simulate the actual interview process and provide students with an opportunity to practice their responses and gain confidence.
  3. Full Visa Processing Service: We offer a free full visa processing service for the main applicants and their dependents. Our team of mentors assists students with the visa application process, ensuring that all documents are in order and submitted on time. We also provide guidance on visa interview preparation and what to expect during the interview.
  4. Assistance with Travel Arrangements: Once the visa is approved, we advise students about their travel arrangements, such as booking flights and accommodation. We also provide guidance on what to pack and how to prepare for their new life abroad.
  5. Assistance with Enrolment: Our compliance team helps students to enrol in their courses and confirm universities with the successful joining of the student. The compliance team also collect students' arrival and enrolment date and a copy of their visa to verify and confirm their status in the study country.

Our mentorship program offers a comprehensive and personalised approach to help students achieve their academic and career goals. Our experienced mentors guide students through each stage of the process, from selecting the best universities and courses to submitting applications and obtaining visas. In a nutshell, this programme empowers students to make informed decisions and pursue their dreams of studying abroad by providing them with the necessary tools and support.
